Description
With the devices of the Vertigo Postural Training line you have a computerized control and customizable training system at your disposal.
The Vertigo system allows you to increase the effectiveness of training by controlling the correctness and intensity of the exercise.
The client will acquire greater ability to balance by working on tone and control of postural muscles.
Postural control
The human organism continuously interacts with the external environment through the development of adaptive behavior. This is the result of cyclical processes that can be equated to control systems interacting and linked to each other. Adaptive behaviors are self-regulation mechanisms that often occur automatically and do not interact with the person's field of consciousness. Some of these mechanisms are regulated by the autonomic, endocrine and immune systems. Sometimes the independence of these processes from consciousness may be lacking: for example, after a run you may perceive your heart beating faster, or if an organ has a problem you may perceive pain. The Fine Postural System presides over the control and regulation of man's balance, keeping it automatically and instantly within the support base. When the person is helped to understand the postural sensory inputs he can act to modify them, forming an elementary biofeedback system. The Vertigo Postural Training System is a biofeedback system to support the training of the senses responsible for maintaining balance: Vision, Proprioception, Vestibule.
The software automatically calculates based on the performance of the four tests: Eyes Open, Eyes Closed, Eyes Open on a platform with soft rubber, Eyes Closed on a platform with soft rubber.
Example: Circle Targets
In this exercise the patient will have to reach one target at a time arranged randomly or according to a pre-established pattern.
On the screen, in addition to the red crosshair, which corresponds to the patient, a first target numbered with the number 1 appears, which disappears only after being hit. Immediately another one appears numbered 2 and it too disappears only after being hit.
The exercise continues with the appearance of one target at a time up to the twelfth. Once the twelfth target is reached, the exercise ends.
It is possible to insert a pseudorandom noise to increase the visual difficulty.
The test can be activated both in static VSP400 PLATFORM and in DS4 dynamic PLATFORM conditions.
