BASELINE HAND DYNAMOMETER KIT

The kit consists of three tools contained in a convenient case. They offer numerous functions for standard screening uses and for the diagnosis of trauma and hand pathologies.

Class I medical device

1. The Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer is designed to ensure constant reliable operation over time. It is a precision instrument, the accuracy of which can be compromised by improper use. Make sure the patient is wearing the safety strap to minimize the risk of the instrument accidentally falling.
   
2. The hydraulic finger dynamometer allows a precise and real measurement of the pressure exerted. During the measurement, the dynamometer is held in the therapist's hand while the patient only applies pressure with his fingers. The reading remains on the indicator until it is reset.
   
3. The Finger Protractor , stainless steel instrument, ideal for measuring the metacarpal, phalangeal and interphalangeal joints. The degree display is indicated on both sides of the protractor.

FUNCTIONS

• Double scale reading. Displays pressure force in pounds and kilograms, with a maximum reading of 200 pounds or 90 kg.
• Needle with peak holding function. For convenience and to simplify data recording, it automatically maintains the highest measured value, indicated by the needle with peak measurement function. The reading remains on the indicator until it is reset.
• Precision and reproducibility. It is isometric during use, with almost imperceptible movements of the handle, regardless of the pressure force. Precise and reproducible results are thus guaranteed.
• Adjustable handle. To accommodate different hand sizes, the grip can be adjusted in five positions: from 1.3/8” to 3.3/8”, in half-inch increments. Since the pressure force can vary even in the same patient, this function allows the therapist to quantify the pressure force for objects of different sizes.

BENEFITS

Some patients may be reluctant to exert maximum effort on blood pressure tests. Repeating the test after a short rest break will allow you to understand if the patient is exerting maximum effort.

1. Test the pressure in the usual way, taking readings with the handle in each position of the dynamometer.
2. Perform the test on the healthy hand and then on the injured hand. Allow the patient to see the measurements.
3. Repeat the test after a five minute break.

Usually if the patient has performed the test with maximum effort, the readings in the various pressure positions will have variations of less than 10%. However, if the patient has not exerted maximum effort, there will be greater and inconsistent variations between one test and another.
