Scientific research interest in soy-based extracts arose from epidemiological observations. Women in Eastern populations, whose diet is particularly rich in soy and soy products, have a lower incidence of menopausal symptoms.
Soy, and soybeans in particular, are rich in phytoestrogens, natural substances with an action and structure similar to those of female hormones. Soy extract* (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) supports the body in counteracting menopausal symptoms. Soy also supports lipid metabolism, which may be altered during this stage of a woman's life.
