Patients with cystic fibrosis, both those with pancreatic insufficiency and those with normally functioning pancreases, have significant deficiencies in lipid absorption.

Dietary supplementation with an adequate dose of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K is therefore essential to support adequate growth in children and adolescents, as well as to prevent diseases related to deficiency states, particularly osteoporosis.

An adequate vitamin intake has also recently been associated with improved respiratory parameters.

DHA is a long-chain polyunsaturated essential fatty acid of the Omega 3 series. Like all essential fatty acids, it is not produced by the body and must therefore be obtained through the diet and, in cases of malabsorption, appropriately supplemented. Polyunsaturated fatty acids play important roles in our body; they modulate the immune response and have a marked anti-inflammatory effect by competing with arachidonic acid, giving rise to eicosanoids with anti-inflammatory action.

DHA also plays an important role in the nervous system, as it is an essential component of neurons, myelin sheaths and the retina. It plays a critical role in determining lipid/protein interactions in neuronal membranes and at the synaptic level, affecting receptor conformation, ion channels, enzymes and the passage of various molecules through cell membranes (nerve transmission).

DKX Plus provides the daily requirement of fat-soluble vitamins ADEK, as recommended by international guidelines, as well as the daily requirement of DHA.

The DHA in DKX Plus is derived from algae, which are the safest source, since algal oil is free from contaminants such as heavy metals, often found in oils extracted from fish. The emulsion is sugar-free and has a pleasant taste, making it suitable for children too.

The box contains a graduated measuring spoon from 2.5 to 5 ml.

Dosage
- Children weighing up to 20 kg: 1 measuring spoonful of 2.5 ml twice daily or as prescribed by a doctor.
- Over 20kg: 1 measuring spoonful of 5 ml twice daily or as prescribed by a doctor.

Store in a cool, dry place
Once opened, the product should be refrigerated and consumed within 20-25 days.
