Evolon fabric is made from both polyamide and polyester granules, which are extruded into continuous filaments. When subjected to high-pressure water jets, the filaments split into microfilaments and, as a result of the same process, interlock and bond together.

The small allergen particles from dust mites are trapped by the Evolon cover, which prevents them from coming into contact with the allergy sufferer. No additional plastic covering or chemical treatment is needed to achieve this result.
