Pa5 audiometer

The PA5 is a portable pediatric audiometer with air conduction, free field and visual stimulation. Thanks to the cap it can also be used for regular screening of adults. The unique characteristics of the PA5 help doctors in evaluating the hearing behavior of newborns and children up to 24 months thanks to specific tests.

AutoPalpebral Reflex (APR) Test
The APR test consists of provoking an eyelid reflex through some relatively loud sounds and can be performed on newborns from the day of birth. It does not require the child's cooperation.

Conditioned Orientation Response (COR) test
Based on the phenomenon called «orientation reflex» which consists of a natural reflex caused by a sound or visual stimulation. If the conditioning is effective, the child will look in the direction of the sound before the visual stimulation is even presented.

Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA)
Extension and modification of COR, where collaboration with the child is less important. Not only the orientation and sound localization reflex is accepted but also 4 other reactions: reflexes (body and face), search reactions, orientation and
spontaneous.

Evaluation of the progression of auditory and audiometric responses
Various stimuli are presented with different intensities, frequencies, durations, direction of the sound to provoke specific reactions in the child such as awakening, crying, surprise, direct localization of the sound.
