Gel Afte Rapid+ Curasept 10 ml, also referred to in the description as Curasept Gel Afte Rapid+ DNA Gel 10 ml, is a gel for local application in cases of single or small mouth ulcers. It reduces pain, protects and moisturizes the wound, and speeds up healing. It does not alter taste perception; it contains no alcohol, does not sting, and does not irritate. The formulation is Vegan Friendly.

Aphthous ulcers are the most common lesions of the oral mucosa. In 80% of cases, the first ulcer appears before the age of 30 years. The condition may affect up to 60%* of the population; it is estimated that in one fifth of cases, episodes are frequent and recur over the years.

Predisposing factors include nutritional deficiencies of vitamin B12, folic acid, and iron; systemic conditions, including diabetes, cyclic neutropenia, celiac disease, and certain intestinal diseases; and psychological conditions such as stress, anxiety, and depression. Also cited are mucosal injuries caused by medical procedures, accidental biting, scalding foods or drinks, or traumatic brushing; genetic predisposition, with ulcers occurring more frequently in families whose members suffer from them; and allergic syndromes triggered by medications and intolerances to certain foods or drinks.

The lesions regress spontaneously, but it is important to promote healing and counter the symptoms, which can be bothersome and persistent: spontaneous pain and burning or pain and burning when speaking, swelling and pain in nearby lymph nodes, increased salivation, difficulty and pain when chewing with possible loss of appetite, as well as difficulty and pain during oral hygiene procedures. Diagnosis is based primarily on clinical appearance and medical history.
