Silybum marianum Gaertn.

Milk thistle (Silybum marianum Gaertn.) is a herbaceous plant that grows in the Mediterranean basin in uncultivated, arid areas. It contains flavolignans, i.e. flavonoid derivatives, including the best-known one, silymarin.

FITOMARIANO contains milk thistle seed extract standardized to 80% total flavonoids, including silymarin, combined with the powdered whole plant. Milk thistle is an antioxidant, supports digestive and liver function and promotes the body's cleansing functions. These properties make milk thistle a useful support for the body following prolonged use of medicines, exposure to excess toxins, or simply during a period of cleansing.
